Osman Dennis is a partner of Axelrod, Fingerhut & Dennis, having joined the firm in 1998. He focuses on real estate litigation, commercial litigation, commercial and residential transactions, commercial leasing, condominium and cooperative representation, and landlord-tenant law.
Mr. Dennis handles complex commercial disputes and negotiations. Often times, he is special counsel to developers and their counsel who need assistance with landlord tenant due diligence and in ensuring the recovery of commercial and residential spaces from tenants for development purposes. He has successfully defended condominium unit owners who were issued violations with oppressive fines and sanctions for their use of Airbnb for the rental of their condominium units. Amongst other victories, in the United States District Court, Southern District, he defended a cooperative corporation from being compelled to recognize a purported historical transfer of the cooperative apartment to a foreign corporation. On appeal to the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, the cooperative corporation’s right to reject the unofficial transfer was affirmed. Mr. Dennis has successfully shaped the law in favor of his clients with his appellate work.
When he’s not winning cases, Mr. Dennis can be found coaching his daughter’s soccer team, cycling and mountain biking.
